Lisa Arafune brings 15 years of experience representing higher education and university-based research interests on Capitol Hill. She has advocated for the research community before major Federal science and research funding agencies, including NSF, DoD, USDA, NIH, DoE Science, NASA, and DoEd. She has developed and directed government relations initiatives and coalitions. She continues to work with The Task Force for American Innovation, the Coalition for National Science Funding, the Energy Sciences Coalition, and the Coalition for National Security Funding, to further investment for research in these critical areas. She began her political interests with the Indiana State Senate working for the Senate Majority Leader. She continued her interest with the House of Representatives for a Congressional Committee. Additionally, she has served clients in the automotive manufacturing industry while utilizing her business Japanese language skills. Lisa holds a BS and MBA from Purdue University, she also holds degrees from École Supérieure de Commerce de Rouen and Budapest University of Economic Sciences. Lisa would like to use her variety of experiences to continue helping universities and small manufacturers reach their goals and maintain a strong presence in Washington.
